Why we do what we do
Founder’s Story
Jerryanne Heath founded ConceptLink out of a personal desire to use her skills, networks and business acumen to make a positive contribution to African communities.
Values
Born in the Caribbean and raised in New York City, Jerryanne has had a life-long passion for Africa and its diaspora communities. Her parents (teachers and ministers) instilled the values of education, integrity and giving of time and talent to others. She exceled at the best public schools in New York and obtained her Bachelors and Masters Degrees at an Ivy League institution, the University of Pennsylvania.
Inspiration
During her final year at Penn, Jerryanne volunteered in South Africa with Habitat for Humanity and built a house for a needy family in just one week. She was inspired by how a small investment of time and funds could make a significant impact in an underserved community. That experience stayed on her mind for years as she analyzed private equity investments at a Wall Street firm and volunteered with various African organizations.
Vision
In 2007, Jerryanne declined her employer’s offer to extend her contract and, instead, chose to make a difference by ploughing her skills, networks and business acumen into developing the African continent. At ConceptLink, she has formed a talented team of professionals who are passionate about increasing opportunities for education, improved health care, entrepreneurship, empowering women, economic growth and more in Africa.
Her vision is to be the partner of choice for nonprofit organizations and companies that are leading positive social change across Africa.
